Our Vision rests upon the Afrocentric Nguzo Saba Principles:

Umoja, Kujichagulia, Ujima, Ujamaa, Nia, Kuumba, and Imani.

We invest in Black and Brown Mwanafunzi to ensure cultural identity. Using cultural practices that involve ubuntu circles, relational mazungumzo, jenga, and pamoja engagement allows mwanafunzi to have a better graduation success and leadership accountability in the community.

our committment

We are committed to enhancing the quality of life for Black and Brown bodies, by cultivating a safe, nurturing space while focusing on the needs of the Black and Brown community.

Our Beliefs

We believe in empowering youth and families through Black and Brown cultural knowledge and Black and Brown support to promote Cultural Healing, Community Resilience, Cultural Identity, and Sovereignty Rights.

We Collaborate

Organizations and community folks wanting to collaborate will set intentions to work internally as a Harambee to build the essence and spirit of Umoja within HCBMAA and Humboldt County rural areas.
